After the official start last November, 19 student pilots, divided into two courses, are currently undergoing ATPL integrated training. Particularly pleasing: the proportion of women is over 20 percent! We are proud that the proportion of female pilots in the cockpit is growing steadily and that more and more women are opting for flight training.
As part of the "Beginner+" cooperation, student pilots have to pass an intensive selection process, but do not need any previous flying experience - they start "ab initio". Within two years, they are then trained on our modern aircraft and simulator fleet and would then be ready to move into the cockpits of Austrian Airlines.
The excellent cooperation with Austrian Airlines and the proximity to the Vienna hub enable long-term and independent personnel planning of the Austrian carrier.
During his visit to our home airfield in Wiener Neustadt Ost (LOAN), Austrian COO Francesco Sciortino was able to see the modern training facilities. A highlight was the exchange with the interested flight students about the training, developments in aviation and the strategy of Austrian Airlines.
We wish all student pilots every success with their training and an exciting journey into the cockpits of Austrian Airlines.
